It is the perfect time of year to attend the Waikerie Food and Wine Festival where you can taste a variety of wine, food, and local produce. This year's event will take place on the fourth weekend in March.
Winter:
Although it may be chilly, Winter is a fantastic time to explore the area's natural beauty during the offseason. Why not visit Loxton's seasonal Saturday Farmers Market where you can indulge in fresh local produce, cheese and other culinary delights. If you're feeling brave, you can participate in the Loxton Mardi Gras Winter Festival. The parade takes place in August and features colourful float and costumes.
Spring:
As the weather begins to warm up the Riverland region awakens for a season of exciting events. We can welcome spring with the Waikerie Lions & Rotary Country Market. Every third Sunday in September people flock to the market from all over the Riverland to patronize this market of all things hand-made, home-grown or locally produced. The Loxton Show is another opportunity to celebrate spring in Loxton Waikerie. The show is an annual event that takes place in September and attracts a wide range of attendees with its carnival rides, livestock shows, and entertainment.
